After the previous weeks defeat in the cup quarter final the boys took to the field with fire in their bellys. Carryduff had penned us in our own half for the 1st 5 minutes of the half but after that it was all Cregagh. With Both Stephen and Gareth Bickerstaff operating down the left, Carryduff couldnt cope with the pace, and Gareth was able to get in behind the back 4 several times, but no-one was able to apply the finishing touch. Closing in on half time Carryduff had a great attempt with a 25 yard volley which was bound for the top corner, but stand in keeper for the day Glen Hughes picked it straight from the top corner and fired the ball back up the pitch, finding Darren Mayes and his pace proved too much for the Carryduff defence, powering through on goal and firing a great strike in off the post, 1-0 Cregagh at the break. The 2nd half began very scrappy with no side really controlling the game and with both side having half chances. Every Cregagh throw in caused proble!
ms for Carryduff with Timmy McLennan coming from centre forward and winning every single header releasing the midfielders. With a quick throw in from Curtis Babb and some poor defending from Carryduff, Gareth Bickerstaff capitalsed and placed the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 Cregagh. As the game wore to a close Carryduff pushed and pushed for their first but Cregaghs defence and keeper Glen Hughes were never going to lie down without a fight. Final score Carryduff 0-2 Cregagh

Cregagh Wanderers v Abbey Villa 11-9-10
Another good preformance from Cregagh but another defeat. Cregagh started the game well but fell 1-0 behind after around 15 minutes from a low shot placed well out of the goalkeepers reach. Abbey Villas 2nd goal had a hint of offside yet the ref allowed play to go on and this really took the wind out of a the much better Cregagh side. In the 2nd half Cregagh had a lot of possession in the midfield and with the determination of Jack Britain and skill of Darren Mayes, Cregagh still failed to cause any alarm to the Villa defense. New boy Glen Hughes took over from Jordan Williams in nets in the 2nd half and showed some real quality, but Villa got their 3rd after some poor defending from Cregagh. Late sub Adam McCullough brought some attacking flair to the game and linked up well with Darren Mayes but failed to find the net. Some stand out performances in this game no more so than Jack McCullough who won everything at the back. Final score Cregagh 0 3 Abbey Villa m.o.m Darren Ma!

Ards Rangers Youth v Cregagh Wanderers 18-9-10
Cregagh began this game with fire in their bellys and led a none stop attack towards the Ards goal, with some fine work from Stephen Bickerstaff and James Grierson, yet unable to find the target. Cregagh then fell behind to a fine volley on the edge of the area placed well out of the inform Gareth Bickerstaffs reach. Cregagh kept up their onslaught on the Ards goal with James Grierson and Darren Mayes working well together down the right hand side but putting the ball wide. Cregagh then fell 2 behind after an unexpected strike slipped past Gareth Bickerstaff in the Cregagh goal, mainly due to the harsh conditions. At half time the Cregagh boys were clearly frustated with the lack of chances being converted. The 2nd half began the opposite of the 1st with Cregagh having to withstand all the pressure and when the ball was cleared Glen Hughs tried tirelessly to hold the ball up in the Ards half only to be crowded out numerous times. Cregagh then fell 3-0 behind as they began to!
tire yet still controlled the game but couldnt convert any chances. The defense were dealing with the pressure well with another great perfromance from Jack Mccullough and Curtis Johnstone but with 5 minutes to go another fine volley was put out of the goalkeepers reach, final score Ards Rangers Youth 4 - 0 Cregagh Wanderers m.o.m Curtis Johnstone
