sirocco mini 7-aside comp.

our 98's boys done creagagh wanderers proud as they won the 7-aside competition at dixon park.

The competitions started with section (A) and section (b). We were in group (A) along  with Shorts, Sirrocco and Bryansburn.

First match against Bryansburn was awake up call for our wee team first ten minutes of the match creagagh wern't at the races and conceded three goals. It was only in the last five minutes when we pulled a goal back through Scott that we looked like a football team.

After a few minutes recess and some harsh words from the three coaches we started match two against the hosts Sirocco and a super all team effort gave us a deserved 1 nil victory again awell taken goal from Scott.

Match three and final fixture of group stages we played an impressive Shorts and managed a hard thought 1 each draw with Scott again scoring. Our team were playing as a team and got even better as they progressed to the semi final stage.

The semi was probably the best proformance of the five games with a 2nil factory over Siroccos second team Darren Mays scoring both goals the second pick of the two. A solid performance by all seven players and a special mention to our man of the tournament Gareth Bickerstaff for a steady performance in goals.

The Final was against the team who beat us in the first match Bryansburn and after going down 1 nil we fought back to get a deserved draw Darren Mays scrambled the ball over the line.Dreaded pens would decide were the trophy was going. Cregagh hit the first of the three Nicky McCreery made it 1 nil up. Bryansburn missed their first. Darren Mays made it 2 nil but Bryansburn scored only just so it was up to Tyler Stewart who slotted home for a 3-1 victory and the trophy safely in our hands.

Our thanks goes to the organisers and not forgetting our boys a proud day for Cregagh Wanderers.
