scrabo 1 v 6 cregagh wanderers
this is a brilliant result after scrabo beat us 3 - 2 in the bunting cup a few weeks back to be honest we looked the stronger team through out with the speed of our front line running there defence all over the place .thomas got us under way with a brilliant solo goal cutting in from the wing to put us 1 up .sam got the 2nd and 3rd with a brilliant volley goal and he got his hat trick with a headed goal (best game so far this season. back on form sam well done) there was an own goal in between sam geting his hat trick and we finished of with graham getting the goal he deserved after getting kicked all over the place in the 2nd half scrabo got a consolation goal after the ref awarded them a penalty for hand ball. the whole team played well and as i said before over the next couple of years it be interesting to see how far this team can go.well done lads . |

12/11/11 scrabo young men 3 v 2 cregagh wanderers bunting cup
we didnt deserve to win this match even though we were leading 2 - 1 with ten minutes to go .we were lucky we didnt concede 3 penalties , which to be fair to scrabo i thought they deserved
we were 1 nil down after about 10 minutes and just didnt look right so we decided to change things with thomas and fisher coming on just before half time .thomas scored to level the game 1 - 1 and monty stepped up to stroke away our penaltie which sam had won .we had changes to make it 3 but to be honest we didnt deserve it and fair play to scrabo who came back to win when i thought they were out of it.we must learn from this game and work harder to see games out when in a winning position. |

22/10/11 cregagh wanderers 3 v 2 cairnshill
a good win in the nicholl cup against a team in the 2nd division goals from craig ,graham (who i thought had an excellant game ) and monty.after going a goal down we fought hard to get back into it and craig scored to level 1 - 1. we kept pushing forward and got our reward when graham headed home 2- 1 .monty sealed it with what can only be described as an up and under as the cairnshill keeper flapped .i dont know who was more surprissed the keeper or monty but they all count 3 - 1 cairnshill scored in the last seconds of the match to finish 3 - 2 .an all round good performance from the team the only downside was an injury to david haugh who we hope wont be out for to long.
29/10/11 cregagh wanderers 3 (8) v 3(7) 92nd ob after extra time and penaltys
our worst display of the season and we were luky to get away with a win but i have to say the boys dug deep and fought away right till the end 2 goals from tucker and 1 from graham seen the match go into extra time and penalty kicks the hero of the pens had to be dd who came on for chris at half time and when it went to pens ,well he saved their 8th one which ment jason had to score to win which he did 8 - 7 on pens well chuffed .i was always told that if you play bad and win its a sign of a good team .well we are a good team and i cant wait to see how this team devlopes over the coming years.

cregagh wanderers 6 v 2 22nd old boys
anotheir good win for the boys. i thought on saturday every single player had a good game but i have to single out jason whose work rate in the middle of the park was outstanding.the forward line scored 5 of the six goals and i dont think there is a better forward line in this division graham scored 2 ,craig scored 2 and thomas scored 1, are otheir goal scorer was monty and it was a peach from just outside the box .its a case of so far so good but there is a long way to go and well not get carried away .we have a hard game in the cup next week v cairnshill young men who play in the 2nd division so we can look forward to that one and hopefully put in anotheir good performance. |

8/10/11 rathcoole young men 9 v 3 cregagh wanderers
dont let this score fool you on anotheir day if we had taken all our chances and defended better we could easily have reversered this score so im not to down hearted it was our first defeat and although i hate getting beat i know next time around we will give them a much harder match .we started better than rathcoole and could have been 4 up before they scored but the ball seemed to stick in the mud or under someones foot ,just one of those days .the goals this week were scored by thomas ,graham and d.haugh.lads dont let the head drop 1st defeat we will learn from it and come back stronger. |
