| About Cregagh Wanderers Football Club |
|
Cregagh Wanderers were founded in 1996 when we were formed from a mixture of B.B. boys and their friends. Our first season was hard as under 14's in the Ards Borough Youth Development League, getting a full squad of 16 players every week was hard and some of the results that year showed this. At the completion of our first season we had the numbers to start two teams at under 14's & under 15's while also developing a young team of under 11's and 10's which played in the I.F.A. Development League. The under 15's finished runners up in their league 2008/09 which was a great achievement and a massive encouragement for all the coaches and children involved with Cregagh Wanderers. This season 2011/12 we have developed the Club further by bringing in new coaches and children, all our coaches connected with the club have achieved level 1 in the I.F.A. coaching awards at C & B certificate standard. We now have a Senior Team playing in the Old Boys League who are coached by Alan McLennan & Brian Bickerstaff Our under 18's are coached by Alan McLennan - Philip Agnew and are playing in the South Belfast Youth League. Our under 17's are coached by Kim McLennan - Julie Smyth - and are playing in the South Belfast Youth League. Our under 14's are coached by Brian Bickerstaff - Chris Montgomery and are playing in the South Belfast Youth League. Special thanks to the Old Bald Eagle himself Phil Melville ( I.F.A Grass Roots Development Officer for Castlereagh ) for his continuing support and help in all aspects of our coaching. We hope to continue growing Cregagh Wanderers as a football club for the forseeable future, whilst expanding our range of teams for all age groups along the way.
